The site and the author

This site was created by Mike Barela.  I'm a survivor of stage 4B nodular sclerosing Hodgkin's diagnosed in 1994.  I had 7 months of ABVD chemotherapy and achieved remission.  While my "odds" of relapse were high ("quoted" at 55%), I have remained in remission since.  I founded the website Mike's Lymphoma Resource Pages late that year which grew into the 200+ page website Lymphoma Information Network (lymphomainfo.net).  With that site acquired in 2008, I kept the rights to the Hodgkin's Timeline, research I did in the late 1990s on significant events in Hodgkin's Disease.  I thought a new site devoted to that topic, expanded, might be of interest.

I have been active in the lymphoma community since diagnosis with leading cancer and lymphoma chat rooms on AOL and advisory roles with lymphoma non-profits and pharmaceuticals.

Currently this is my only cancer project although I have learned since diagnosis to never decide what is given for I'll usually be wrong.
